Sunday Night Reflection
July 11th, 2010
- Awesome day today! Last week I did a series titled “Summer Health” and in one of the post I made this statement… “I can’t wait till this Sunday…not because we will be out of seats (which, who knows, we might) but because there are going to be families at NLC who need Jesus and need his church to stay focused on the fact that ONE matters.” …Well, in our second experience today we were out of seats!
- Today we launched the 3:20 challenge! You can read all about it here: http://nlc.tv/320-challenge …feel free to give if God leads you. Portland location is going to BLOW UP on 10/10/10! Can’t wait to see how God uses our Kaleo and Portland locations this fall. Newington location, you guys have made this possible!
- Speaking of giving, our giving has been WAY UP this summer! Over the last six weeks our giving has gone up around 40% in the middle of the summer! So thankful for a church that is honoring God with their finances. Big vision takes big money!
- Our band is leading NLC into some powerful worship! It’s so cool to see people getting to church on time because they don’t want to miss what God is going to do through musical worship. I would buy our band’s CD any day of the week. Maybe we should think of doing some recording
- Today I preached my “one Prayer” which was “God give us an unstoppable desire”! I talked about 9 desires that I believe will lead to a life giving church.
- I’m so thankful for my wife and kids…I love you guys SO MUCH MORE than NLC and life itself. Jen, Malachi and Nehemiah you are the greatest gift God had ever given me. I would be happy living life in a cave with you three
- I’m so thankful that I get to be a part of this church. No one is more blown away by what God is doing at NLC than me.
- I’m so thankful for the volunteers who serve so selflessly each week.
- I’m so thankful for people who choose to faithfully give to God at NLC.
- I’m so thankful that in spite of my sins God still chooses to use me.
- I’m so thankful that the growth of his church isn’t based on my abilities but his power.
- I’m so thankful for the vision God has placed in my heart. I pray that I stay focused on his heart and don’t filter his vision through my pride or desires.
- I’m so thankful for the mentors that God has placed in my life. Not just the “big name” guys but men who are pastoring small churches who truly love me and want me to be the best in Christ I can be.
- I’m so thankful for the guys who allow me to coach them, you guys are so humble and you allow me to live out God’s call on my life.
- I’m so thankful for the awesome churches in New England that have supported and stood with NLC.
- I’m so thankful for the ARC.
- I’m so thankful for the thousands of people who attend or have attended NLC….whether you still attend NLC or not, thank you!
- I’m so thankful that God has trusted me at 30 years old with such a great blessing.
- I’m thankful that this is only the beginning. Many more locations and thousands of more souls that I’m already thankful for.
- I’m so thankful for my staff…you guys make me feel like a hero. I love you with all my heart…I’ve got your back
- I’m so thankful for failures that have compelled me towards successes.
- I’m so thankful to Jesus….I’m so blown away by your grace, your love, your presence, your power…I don’t live for you because it’s my “career”, I live for you because you are my God, you are my Glory, you are the lifter of my bowed head.

Hi Josh…listening to some real good bluegrass music from WAMU…an NPR station out of Washington DC…listening of course via the internet. Try it out you’ll like it.
Thats something filling the seats during the second experiance. Would like to see that during the first one…the one I go to mostly.
Looks like folks are getting turned on by the Portland thing. Will have to dig out my GPS and go up for a visit when things get rolling. Thats quite a building they will be in.
Interesting to see folks giving the way they do in these hard times.
I agree…the band is something else again…;-) I would like to see them try alittle something different now and again. Like some bluegrass gospel for a change and get away from the Australian style. Any chance of that?
Living in a cave?…:-) I see you living in a big house on a hill top before long cos you will have earned it. Driving a Bentley. If Joel and some of the other men of God can do it you can to. I see a bright future just around the bend.
That Jesus is something ain’t he? Can save a person from all kinds of bad habits if we just believe He can. Can heal us and even put a buck or two in our wallets at times. Praise His name. Franklin
