Sunday Download December 14th, 2009

Yesterday was one of those Sundays that will never be forgotten. It was our “Big Give” Sunday and geared towards our second location, Kaleo coffee. www.kaleocoffee.com

We showed the interview I had with Mark Batterson and it went great. I’ll be posting that interview on my blog this week. Mark is the real deal and I’m honored to have a relationship with him. There are few things more refreshing than a man of God not letting “fame” go to his head and Mark in my opinion is leading the way on that. I admire his integrity and humility.

Instead of handing out experience folders yesterday, we handed everyone who came our official Kaleo coffee cups filled with a bunch of goodies including a free medium drink gift card for Kaleo.

We also had the theater pop popcorn and handed out bags of popcorn to everyone after the band finished their worship set.
- We sold the officially Kaleo Coffee blend in our foyer yesterday and we sold A LOT of bags of coffee.

It’s so funny how our two experiences are divided, we have most of our “churched” people at 9:00 and our “un-churched” before NLC people at 10:30….the cool thing is our 10:30 was packed!

I have no idea what the heck we are going to do next week…really I don’t!…If you go to NLC I would love for you to attend the 9:00 and serve at our 10:30. It’s not like either have tons of seats but the 10:30 this week had about 40-50 more people.

I haven’t gotten all of my spreadsheets for this past Sunday yet, but I would be willing to bet that our 10:30 was over 85% full. Which means this Sunday will be interesting.

I made a joke while I was talking yesterday that was actually true….I said that at NLC we have x amount of people and only 40 percent show up each Sunday. I have no clue what 40% are going to show up but I do know this….if 70% ever showed up on a Sunday we would have to seat people on the ceiling.

That’s just one of the beauties of reaching people who were not in church prior to NLC.

All of the wiring, plumbing and duct work will be done in Kaleo this week. I’m even hoping that the new windows we are putting in the side of the building will be done. Hoping to have the drywall done next week! Honestly believe this is going to change the way church is done in N.E.

I have been asked to speak at some different churches in 2010 which pumps me up…I have such a huge desire to see God’s church explode and to encourage churches and pastors to do anything short of sin to see the Gospel message made famous. I have a huge heart for God’s church and really believe that the major calling on my life is teaching pastors and helping to build up the church they are leading at. Don’t get me wrong I love what I do at NLC and plan to do it forever….but, nothing pumps me up more than leading pastors and sharing at other churches.

I feel really weird writing that, but a lot of guys I’ve talked to mentioned they haven’t asked me because they assumed I was too busy. I am busy, but as I mentioned my heart longs to be a blessing to pastors and the churches they are leading at.

I’ve had a great 4 days learning from some amazing leaders. I have missed my family tons but I know that there have been things deposited into me as a leader these last 4 days that will allow me to be a greater man of God.

The coaching network with Perry on Thursday was GREAT! I’ve mentioned that if you want to be a part of Perry coming to N.E. email event@nlc.tv …I will be figuring out the dates soon but I do need to get an idea of how many people will be attending.

On Saturday night I went to Elevation church and was blown away by the excitement….today I have gone to three different churches…I went to Next Level church in Charlotte, Mosaic church in Charlotte and of course, Newspring church at 6:00 this evening.

Newsping reserved some seats for me in the front row which was cool….and when Perry came out he asked me to stand up and wave to the crowd…I’m not going to lie I was nervous, I would have no problem preaching to thousands but standing up and waving really freaked me out. It was cool to hear Perry tell the thousands of people there what Jesus is doing in N.E….

The entire staff at Newspring just simply loves Jesus…I admire them and can’t wait to continue to learn from them.

The entire NLC team is actually coming with me to Newspring next month to learn from each department head. There is WAY too much at stake to not gain as much wisdom as we can.

I’m giving up social networks for an unknown amount of time…

Jesus has rocked my world over the last couple days and I can’t wait to see what’s next. He always developes his leaders for what he’s about to entrust them with. Pray that I will listen and hear the voice of Jesus.

We have some AMAZING series coming up!…we will be talking about the sins of the church, sex, death, hell and heaven….and I’m working on a series titled “if God can use a donkey he can use your ass too”….I’m just saying.

I will be starting a blogging series tomorrow talking about some of the things I’ve learned this week.

The church in America would double in one day if people stop claiming to be Christ followers and became Christ followers.

I heard Roman talked about tampons in his message today….Trust me I know the context and it is actually Biblical….I would tell you the verse but you’re just going to have to watch it online.

We have some things that Jesus is doing at NLC that is literally going to double if not triple our effectiveness for the Kingdom in the next 4 months.

Was honored to have some people from Granite State Baptist church at NLC today. They came to hopefully learn some things from us….at 1 1/2 I’m not sure we were much help, but I hope so.

Looking forward to Ron and his team from the Intersection church joining our lead team meeting Tuesday. Hoping that Jesus will give me the words and wisdom to rock their world.

Okay, I have to catch a plane tomorrow…just to get back on another one to D.C. on Thursday….But I will be back and ready to preach this Sunday and trust me, I might be the most excited I’ve ever been to preach the Gospel. You cannot be a preacher and sit through 4 different church experiences and not be itching to preach.

NLC, THE BEST IS YET TO COME…WE ARE ONLY CHECKING IN OUR LUGGAGE, WE HAVE NOT EVEN BOARDED THE PLANE!

Yesterday was one of the most powerful days in the history of NLC. Over 30 people gave or rededicated their life to Jesus Christ. I asked people to raise there hand in the second experience and I was blown away at the amount of hands that went up!…plus we had 87 in Kid City, can’t wait for them to start breaking 100 kids in the next couple of months.

I preached about how Religion is the opposite of Christianity. I also went off on the thought of “denominations” ….all that church denominations do is confuse the Gospel of Jesus Christ and keep us following after man made rules and regulations. It’s similar to church membership, man’s way of complicating the Gospel by adding rules and regulations.

It’s so amazing to me that so many pastors are so brain washed that they don’t even realize how religion rules over so much of what we do, we add to the name of Jesus…..we teach it’s Jesus + denominations, Jesus + membership, Jesus + dressing a certain way, Jesus + not eating in the “sanctuary”, Jesus + speaking in tongues, Jesus + not speaking in tongues, Jesus + raising your hands in worship,….. we are no different than the Judaizers when we add our man made rules and regulations to the Gospel message.

Paul was clear that the Gospel message is Jesus + nothing!….At NLC, we are not even non-denominational because unfortunately, non-denominational has become a denomination. We are just church, it worked for Jesus so it should work for us…. Preach Jesus church leaders and NOTHING else and watch lives change!

One more thing on the subject of religion….I’ve been invited to two “revival services” in the last week and it seriously makes me sick to my stomach! THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A REVIVAL SERVICE!…there are Christ centered churches and non-Christ centered churches, the one’s that are Christ centered experience lives revived EVERY WEEK! Stop trying to plan a move of God…he’s already moving!

I’m more desperate than ever to see Jesus move in amazing ways during my life time. I’m desperate to know Jesus and make him proud.

We met as a staff this morning and talked about our Kingdom dream from now to the end of the year. Jesus blew our mind with creativity and we are positioned for the biggest push for the Kingdom of God that this area has ever seen.

I can’t let any more info out….. but I’ll just say within the next 3 weeks UNH and Southern N.H. is going to be blown away.

We have two huge fall pushes one in 2-3 weeks and another in November. As Perry always says, “you can’t plan a move of God, you can only prepare for one” and our goal at NLC is to prepare for the greatest 4 months in the history of NLC.

I leave this Wednesday and head back to S.C. to learn from Perry Noble, I can’t wait! I’m pumped to go to both Newspring and Elevation church this weekend.

I love what Jesus is doing in the Carolinas, but I’m more excited about what Jesus is going to do in New England.
